Pounding the pavement along West O St has never been more gratifying.
Here at Zipline, we’re constantly striving to serve the Lincoln community in the best way possible. That job is easy when we partner with passionate movers and shakers for a common goal.
Justina McConnell is an example of one such customer who makes it easy for us to do more good in Lincoln. As the mastermind behind the Brave New Brew Running Crew, Justina plans a 5K fun run on a monthly basis to benefit local charities. After two years of monthly runs, the Crew has raised $9,862 for 20 different organizations, along with in-kind donations collected for Matt Talbot Kitchen and People’s City Mission.
“And some people say beer isn’t good for you,” says Justina, noting that craft beer makes an ideal rallying point that gets more folks doing good for the city.
This immense outpouring of support is made possible by the more than 600 different runners who have logged more than 75 miles. Each run brings out newbies and regulars alike, and the camaraderie in the taproom post run always creates new friendships while cementing old ones. In this, the Brave New Brew Running Crew perfectly exemplifies the community of risk-takers and change-makers Zipline’s founders envisioned from the start.
Connect with the Brave New Brew Running Crew via Facebook and stay up to date on the next monthly run. With a $5 suggested donation to the cause of the month, each runner over 21 years old gets a free pint. Come out and support your community, build each other up, and toast your efforts with a Brave New Brew.
